Hard hit by staggering losses in the textile industry over the last ten years, Chambers County and its cities of LaFayette, Lanett and Valley faced the new millennium and the evolution to its industrial base with determination, tenacity and unwavering team work. The Chambers County Development Authority is dedicated to actively recruiting automotive suppliers, manufacturers, distribution industries and retail and commercial clients who desire the convenience of interstate access combined with affordable, quality living.

West Point Development Authority
The WPDA was originally created in 1969 by an Act of the Georgia General Assembly. The Authority consists of a Chairman and four members plus an Executive Director whose goal is to promote economic development and create jobs in the city of West Point. The WPDA developed West Point Technology Park, a business park that is occupied by a variety of companies, from carpet manufacturer InterfaceFLOR to highly technical companies such as InterCall and Knology. Some 1500 employees currently work within the park. WPDA is a member of the Valley Partnership, a regional economic development organization. The Authority also works to bring new businesses to the NW Harris Business Park, which is the newest business park within the city of West Point. WPDA supports the opening of the Columbus State University instructural site in West Point and shares office space with the University in a historic downtown building at 707 Third Avenue.
