The mission of the Greater Valley Area Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with member businesses, is to inform, to educate and to promote the economic potential and improve the quality of life in our area for all citizens.

The Greater Valley Area Chamber of Commerce exists for business in our communities … from individuals wanting to start a business to those wanting support in ongoing growth and expansion.

As a member of the Alabama Entrepreneurial Research Network, the Chamber can be a valuable resource to those needing guidance on starting a business or developing a business plan.  Our Small-Business Research Center with online access to the Alabama Virtual Library and all its resources, as well as printed volumes with model business plans and financial planning, gives a wealth of free information on a range of businesses. This service is available to everyone in the Chamber’s service area in both Alabama and Georgia.

One of the first direct Chamber membership benefits for a business is a ribbon-cutting to mark the opening or expanding or change in ownership of the enterprise – an event that’s well-publicized in area media and serves as notice that there’s a new name added to the business community or an expansion of an existing name.

Our evening networking events, such as Business After Hours, offer Chamber members and other interested residents the opportunity to visit the host business, learn more about its operations and enjoy catching up on business and civic happenings as they relax with their fellow business people. A Business After Hours draws a wide range of business and civic leaders and it’s a very inexpensive way to showcase your business.
