- A
maximum of 3,000 ducks will be entered in the race.
- Ducks
will be launched from the
John
C.
Barrow
Bridge
at approximately 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 17th.
(In case of heavy rains; the winners will be drawn by lot).
- All
ducks entered will be provided by the
GVACC
and will remain property thereof. Once the ducks are
launched; they are on their own. No attempt to free or
interfere with any duck is permitted by anyone except for
members of the Chattahoochee River Stewards who will assist
with the race.
- A
numbered duck that coincides with an entry ticket form with be
sold. The race entrant, whose name appears on the duck
entry form corresponding with the first entered duck across
the finish line; will be awarded the grand prize, all other
prizes will be awarded in the same manner.
- A
list of prizes can be obtained from the
GVACC
office and website www.greatervalleyarea.com.
- All
official duck entry forms must be completely filled out and
delivered to the
GVACC
before Friday, September 16th at 12 p.m.
- The
cost to enter a duck in the race is $5.00 per duck.
Prizes will
be awarded to the first ten ducks across the finish line. The
prizes include:
1st
Place--$1,000.00 cash
2nd
Place--$500.00 cash (donated by Riggers Fabricators &
Millwrights)
3rd Place--One year free membership to Valley Aerobics &
Fitness
4th Place--One year free cable from Knology
5th Place--$250.00 gift certificate to Kenny Knox Tire
6th Place--2 free tickets to the Talledega Race
7th Place--$100 Savings Bond from Frontier Bank
8th Place--Fish Cooker from Superior Gas
9th Place--2 Electric Toothbrushes and two beach chairs from
Etherton Dentistry
10th Place--A "goody" bag full of prizes from the
GVACC
